Those Dancing Days
When the rumour of Those Dancing Days mixture of pop, girlgroup and
Northern Soul started to surface in Stockholm during the winter months
of 2007 the five piece act quickly became one of the most talked about
new bands in eons. Their track "Hitten" (the Swedish translation – “The
Hit”) became just what the title says - their MySpace inundated with
praise from all over the world. With a recent record deal in hand the
band release their debut single EP/mini album in Sweden where "Hitten"
leads the way into their charm-filled world.
Those Dancing
Days formed in Nacka- a suburb of Stockholm - in 2005. From the ashes
of Rebecka Rolfart (guitar), Cissi Efraimsson (drums) and Lisa Pyk
Wirström's former band, Those Dancing Days found their line-up
completed when college friend Mimmi Evrell (bas) was asked to join who
in her turn asked vocalist Linnea Jönsson. With this done things
started to develop quickly. A demo was recorded and after songs were
addded to their MySpace the feedback was instant. American music site
-It's A Trap- got it spot on when they wrote "Sweet as apple-pie pop".
The
band’s debut release out side of Sweden will be a seven inch single on
Wichita Recordings, released on October 8th. Proceeding this release,
the band will play a small number of UK shows in September.
Their debut album came out on Wichita Records in October 2008.
